During the union agreement between the wine growing cooperatives of Ontur and Albatana in the province of Albacete, the Minister for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development, Francisco Martínez Arroyo stated that Castilla-La Mancha, “is experiencing a real revolution” within the cooperative sector.
An agreement within the framework policy promoted by the regional Government relating to the commercial integration and collaboration between the cooperatives and agri-food businesses in the Autonomous Community, as issued by the Council in a press release.
The resulting ‘Ontalba’ group will benefit from assistance targeted to groups of producers approved by the Government of Emiliano García-Page and which have been published last week in the Diario Oficial for Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM).
The Minister has confirmed this and has encouraged cooperatives and agri-food businesses to take advantage of the period to apply for the assistance “which may be up to 400.000 euros”.
This has also encouraged the other agri-food businesses in the region to move towards commercial integration by creating groups of producers. They have until the 14th of November to request this assistance, the Minister added, “we have much hope for this and we are achieving many commercial integration and cooperation projects”.
